From Kerala to the Globe

Hatch Marine Consultants Pvt. Ltd. was established in Trivandrum, Kerala — a city with deep maritime heritage and one of India's most significant coastlines. Founded by Cdr. R R Shibu (retd.), a decorated naval officer and certified naval architect, the firm was built around a simple premise: that India and the developing world deserved access to marine and hydraulic engineering expertise of global standard.

Drawing together a team of specialists with careers spanning international engineering consultancies, government research institutes, and academic institutions, Hatch Marine rapidly expanded from its Kerala base to serve clients across India, the Arabian Gulf, South Asia, and beyond.

Our vision is to be the foremost technical partner of choice for marine and hydraulic engineering across South and South-East Asia — recognised for scientific rigour, practical innovation, and an unwavering commitment to sustainable development.

Technical Excellence

Our operational and technical standards across every project and client engagement.

  • ISO-Aligned Engineering Standards All numerical models are developed, calibrated, and validated in accordance with international engineering and quality standards.
  • Force Technology Partnership Strategic alliance with Force Technology for Full Mission Bridge ship simulation — world-leading 2D and 3D navigation simulation technology.
  • Multi-Software Proficiency Licensed and proficient in MIKE 21/3 FM, MIKE SW, MIKE BW, Delft3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, MODFLOW, FEFLOW, and SWAN.
  • Field Data Integration All models are calibrated against measured data — ADCP surveys, bathymetric surveys, wave buoys, tide gauges, and groundwater monitoring.
  • Climate-Integrated Design Climate change scenarios (CMIP6, RCP 4.5/8.5) are routinely incorporated into infrastructure design parameters and flood risk assessments.
  • Regulatory & EIA Compliance Deep experience navigating Indian and international regulatory frameworks for port, coastal, and water infrastructure approvals.
  • On-Time, Every Time Our philosophy of local-suited delivery means project timelines are realistic, respected, and consistently met.
  • OCIMF & International Standards Mooring and berthing analyses conducted to OCIMF, British Standards, and other international port engineering guidelines.
